  1. Stop 1: Stop at Safeway in Kahului for snacks, drinks, coffee, and other goodies for the day.
  2. Stop 2: Drive through the rolling hills and farms of Upcountry Maui in Kula.
  3. Stop 3: Climb the Haleakalā Highway with scenic photo stops as conditions allow.
  4. Stop 4: Enter the summit district of Haleakalā National Park.
  5. Stop 5: Visit Hosmer Grove for a short walk and the chance to spot native Hawaiian birds.
  6. Stop 6: Stop at Park Headquarters Visitor Center just beyond the Summit District entrance.
  7. Stop 7: Walk the 1.8-mile Halemauʻu Overlook loop on daytime departures when time and conditions permit.
  8. Stop 8: Pause at Leleiwi Overlook for views into the crater and across Maui.
  9. Stop 9: Reach Puʻu ʻUlaʻula, Haleakalā’s 10,023-foot summit and the island’s highest point.
  10. Stop 10: Watch the changing light from Keoneheʻeheʻe Overlook on sunset departures.
